aland is a commission by Peter Weibel and the BIACS 3 Seville Biannual granted Philip Pocock, who assembled a great team listed above.

currently the location of aland is unknown. it was shipped wrongly by Tobias Berger (now in Hong Kong) Lee Young Chul (no longer director the NJP Art Center Seoul) and subsequently vandalized and robbed of its existence as an art work by Bang Ja Young and Lee Yun Jun of Seoul South Korea. The work was supposedly shipped by the Nam June Paik Art Center to an address but this can't be verified as Lee and Berger sent the art work to two collaborating assistants Bang and Lee who destroyed and robbed the commissione artist. :(

In March the gypsies returned. This time they brought a telescope and a magnifying glass the size of a drum, which they exhibited as the latest discovery of the Jews of Amsterdam. They placed a gypsy woman at one end of the village and set up the telescope at the entrance to the tent. For the price of five reales, people could look into the telescope and see the gypsy woman an arm's length away. Science has eliminated distance, Melquíades proclaimed. In a short time, man will be able to see what is happening in any place in the world without leaving his own house.
